Over the years, poker had become a very popular game. Who would have thought that when that group of young men invented the game of poker, they have invented what would soon become a world phenomenon. Since then, dozens and dozens of poker variants have popped out from different parts of the world, each taking its place in the lime light.

One of the most successful among these poker rules variations is indeed the Texas Hold'em which has taken a permanent seat in casinos both online and in actual setting. Still, there are many emerging poker variants that are steadily gaining popularity nowadays.

Beyond Texas Hold'em
In comparison to the famous Texas Hold'em, Omaha is one of the variants very much similar to it. The main difference is that in Omaha Poker, each player is initially dealt with four cards instead of the usual two. Similar as it may sound, the fact that you are holding double the usual number of cards is really a great change if you’re on the actual game.

In the poker rules for Stud variants, as in the seven card stud and the seven card stud hi-lo, you will usually end up with a total of seven cards at the end of the game. There are usually about five rounds of betting that you will be able to finish ‘till the end. The only difference in these two poker rules is that, in the traditional version, you need to have the highest hand to win, while in the Hi-Lo version, you can win by having the highest or the lowest pot. There are usually two winners except for some unusual events where exceptions apply. Similarly enough, in Razz poker, you also end up with seven cards in the end, and you need to have the lowest possible hand to win the pot.

Know the Basics
Being knowledgeable of the poker basics and poker rules is very important. There may be dozens of different variants and poker rules, but in the end, the basic concept stays the same. Some group of people from a certain place just does some variations and the name changes to something new. Still, the strategy to be employed in each game changes a lot even with only a little modification. As I have mentioned, all these variants has or will take the limelight every now and then.
