Seven Card Stud RulesOne of the popular variations of poker is the Seven Card Stud Poker. It is a mainstay in every casino in Vegas and all successful online poker sites. Learning to play the Seven Card Stud is a guaranteed stepping stone into easily learning how to play other poker variants like Texas Hold'em Poker, Omaha Poker and others. Yes, the rules may be simple and generally taken from the basic classic poker, but it is still relatively hard to master. Not like other popular games like Omaha and Texas Hold'em, only a few chosen players are able to master this game. Starting the Game The poker game starts with each player paying an amount to the pot. After this, each player is given two face-down cards also called the “hole” cards and another face up card. The player with the highest face up card gets the first turn. There are a total of six stages in this game namely the 3rd street, 4th street, 5th street, 6th street, the river and the showdown. The players then start with a round of betting, calling, folding and raising. This is the 3rd street. The 4th, 5th and 6th Street follows where each player is dealt with one face up card respectively. The last card is the 7th card. It is also known as the river. At the end, each player has seven cards at hand, hence, the name of the game. If there are more than one player left after the last round, a showdown is done, and the one with the better cards wins the pot. If, however, at the last round, only one player is left and all the others have folded, the remaining player automatically wins the pot. Memorize PokerStars |
